FRANKIE MANNING MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP New to Sving du Nord this year is the Frankie Manning Memorial Scholarship. This is an essay contest for high school and college students. Students will write what swing means to them and why they would benefit from attending Sving du Nord. The winner of the essay contest will win a full scholarship to Sving du Nord. After the passing of Lindy Hop's Ambassador, Frankie Manning, TC Swing wanted a way to commemorate the gift Frankie gave to us and the world by giving that gift to someone who otherwise could not afford to go. TC Swing must receive your essay by Thursday, September 16th, and the winner will be notified by Thursday, September 23rd. Mikey Pedroza
Since 1998, Mikey Pedroza has taken his perfect blend of ethereal grace
and classic style to every performance, competition and instructional
event through out the United States and the world. Coming out of the
mean, but clean, streets of the Orange County, California, Mikey has
earned acclaim for his hard edged, but playful, style of Lindy Hop &
Classic Jazz Dance. Mikey’s passion for Lindy Hop can be seen on every
social dance floor he walks on. Dancing every song to the fullest
ability of his heart & soul.
He brings that same fantastic energy to his classes while focusing on the classic jazz dancing look matched with a great technical feel. Mikey’s teaching focuses on lead and follow techniques in every sense of those words. With focal points on connection, body leading, movement, and frame. Now he would like to share his unique yet classic style with you. And hopes that you will be able to feel for this American art form as much as he does.
A strong dedication to the understanding and preservation of the classic
American made Jazz dances, is what drives him to continue learning these
Swing Dances that include: Charleston, Lindy Hop, Balboa, Slow Dancing
(or Blues Dancing) and Classic, Solo Jazz Dance.

Dominique Blouin Dominique
(Montreal) has been teaching dance for the past ten years. Speaking both
English and French and having studied and taught a number of different
dances including Salsa, Flamenco, Lindy Hop, Charleston and Balboa she is a
much sought-after instructor and has been recognized among top dancers for
her sense of style and grace on the dance floor. Dominique has taught locally and internationally in both Balboa and Lindy Hop with some of the bests including Mickey Fortanasce, Max Pitruzzella , Marty Klempner, Bobby White, Joel Plys to name a few. She also organizes successful events, Followlogie as well as the Montreal Balboa Revue. Currently she teaches locally in Montreal and coaches the Balboa Connexion Team. |

Dave Fruto & Kim Clever
They are six time US Open finalists, including 1st Place Lindy Hop. We have many film and television credits, including "Mulholland Drive", "Beverly Hills 90210", "Everybody Loves Raymond", "Ally McBeal", were choreographers for "The 13th Floor" and "Pearl Harbor", and appeared in Brian Setzer's "Jump, Jive 'N Wail" music video.
Dave & Kim teach the Lindy Hop social dance skills needed for a solid foundation, and the Flash and Trash used for competitions, jam circles, or just for fun! |

SATURDAY NIGHT: Wolverines Big Band _________________ Start the night with a swing dance lesson by Cindy & Terry at 7:30. The band starts swingin' at 8:30 and keeps on goin' 'til 12:30!

| Terry Gardner is a Swing DJ, dancer, instructor, and
promoter. He has worked for Artspectrum at
the American Lindy Hop Championships as
both the stage manager and as the event emcee. Terry also competed at ALHC in the
Open Showcase division where he placed 5th in 2004 (Video). Terry is the house DJ for Late Night Swing in Minneapolis and has DJ'ed for AB Swing Challenge [Iowa], American Open [Florida], Dayton Lindy Exchange [Ohio] as well as weddings, public dances and private parties. |

Workshop will be held at Social Dance Studio.
Cancellation Policy: 100% refund by Sept. 3; 75% Sept. 4-10; 50% Sept. 11-17; 25% Sept. 18-24; no refund after .
Lead/Follow parity will be maintained as much as possible in all classes. Signing up early is the best insurance that you will get in the classes you want. Some classes will waive the parity when applicable.
